Description
The Reduit was used as a military prison . The single dark narrow hallway travels along small, dark cells that can be described as nothing but gloomy. The jail is located within the Citadel of old Quebec City, Quebec, Canada. The fort was constructed by the British for the purpose of defending the city against an American invasion that never came. Home to the Royal 22nd Regiment the regiment is the only French-speaking one in Canada. The Citadel is a National Historic Site and a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
