Artist's Description

The 1966 Chrysler Imperial Green Hornet Black Beauty is owned by Mark Marougi of Bloomfield Township. The Black Beauty gained notoriety with its green headlights in the 1960s TV show “The Green Hornet. On display here at the Eyes on Design auto show held every Father's Day on the grounds of the Eleanor and Edsel Ford Estate. Eyes on Design is a fundraiser for the Detroit Institute of Ophthalmology and participation in the show is by invitation only, with specific themes selected for each year.
This car is one of the original "Black Beauty" 1966 Chrysler Imperials built by Dean Jeffries under the direction of George Barris, for the Green Hornet television series of the late 60's. This car is not a replica or tribute. Dick Dean handled the bodywork on all of the original Black Beauties and he was also involved in the restoration of this fine example of a true 60's television icon.
Owner, Mark Marougi, Bloomfield Township, Michigan"
